QUICK AND EASY GROUNDWORKS CONTRACTORS QUOTES AND ADVICE

We have qualified, knowledgeable and friendly staff who know what questions to ask to be able to turn around a quotation quickly for your business. You can expect quotations from us within 24 hours, in writing. Our professionals will meet you on site or talk to you on the phone and go through the prices and conditions of the various quotes. We want to help you to get the widest cover for the lowest price.

CLOSED SITE OR PUBLIC ROADS

One of the first questions we will ask you is whether you are working on a closed site or on public roads. Working on Public Roads is more dangerous, particularly if the road is busy. Because of this increased risk, one of the first things we will ask is whether you are using a traffic management system.

WHERE DOES MY GROUNDWORKS COVER APPLY?

This policy covers your work all over Ireland – the Republic and Northern Ireland plus the UK. If you have employer's liability cover, your employees can also work for you - throughout Ireland and the UK.

SUB-CONTRACTORS INSURANCE

All of our combined liability policies (public and employer's liability sections) include employer’s liability cover for labour only sub-contractors up to a total annual payment of €7,500. This can be increased and we will ask you at quotation stage and again at every renewal what you expect your annual payment to be in respect of labour only subcontractors.

Also included on Combined Liability policies is employer’s liability cover for Independent Bona Fide Sub Contractors up to 25% of your turnover.

GROUNDWORKS LIABILITY INSURANCE - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will this Policy meet the requirements of the Local Councils?

Yes – all of the liability policies we recommend meet the requirements of Local Councils.

Can I insure my Plant and Equipment?

Yes – we can insure all of your plant and equipment against accidental damage, fire and theft. We can help you decide what, if any, of your heavy plant needs to be insured for use on public roads. If it is taken from site to site on a low-loader or a trailer, then Third Party only or road risk cover is not required.

Will you help me complete a proposal form?

In most cases we will not need a proposal form. Cover will be based upon the conversations you have with us in relation to your business. Typical questions include your business description, turnover and number of employees. Once cover is agreed, we will send you a summary of these conversations and this document is called a “Statement of Fact”. You can read through it and if there are any changes to be made, we can easily adjust your policy.

What about insurance for a Working Director?

As a sole trader, a working director or business owner is not covered by employer’s liability insurance. However the working director can still become injured or have an accident at work. We can arrange personal accident cover for a director and the price is based upon the weekly amount the director will be paid while out of work and the number of weeks that this payment will be made.

What is the limit of indemnity?

€6.5 million limit of indemnity on the public liability section and €13 million on the employer's liability section. You do not have to have employer’s liability cover if you have no employees.
