CAN I INSURE MY FARM OUTBUILDINGS?

Yes – we can insure all of your farm outbuildings against fire, no matter what age these building are. Any farm buildings that are under 40 years old or have been renovated within the past 40 years can be insured against storm damage.

CAN I INSURE MY MILKING EQUIPMENT?

Yes – and all of your milking equipment is covered for storm damage too.

DOES A FARM INSURANCE POLICY COVER FIRE BRIGADE CHARGES?

Yes, fire brigade charges of up to €15,000 are included as standard and applies to all of your outbuildings as well as the farm house.

WHAT ABOUT MY FARM IMPLEMENTS AND EQUIPMENT – CAN THEY BE INSURED?

Theft of implements and farm equipment are covered automatically once certain minimum security requirements are met.

I HAVE A TANK OF DIESEL. CAN THIS BE INSURED?

Yes, theft of diesel and damage to the holding tank is included in your farm insurance policy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY LIVESTOCK BREAKS OUT AND HITS A CAR. AM I COVERED?

Yes – both the damage to the car and any personal injuries sustained by the driver or passengers in the vehicle are covered by your farm insurance policy under the public liability section.

CAN I INSURE MY LIVESTOCK AGAINST THEFT?

Yes, this is no problem at all. The livestock theft cover is good and carries an excess of only €500 ( the part of claim that you pay for yourself). The sum insured is based on the maximum herd/flock value. Livestock cover includes ponies. As well as theft cover, your livestock is also covered for storm, electrocution, fire, collapse of slats and livestock on foot. Livestock in transit is an optional extra.

I HAVE A BULL WORTH OVER €6,000. CAN I INSURE HIM AGAINST DEATH?

Yes, this cover can be arranged on your farm insurance policy under the Pedigree section. There will be an additional charge for this and there is an age limit to the animal. The cover includes illness, disease, infertility as a result of an accident and death of the bull.

WHAT ABOUT THE WINDSCREEN ON MY TRACTOR – IS IT COVERED?

Yes. In fact all glass is covered on all of your agricultural vehicles even if you only have Third Party Fire and Theft cover.

WHO CAN DRIVE MY AGRICULTURAL VEHICLES?

All of your agricultural vehicles are on an open driving basis for those aged between 17 and 75 with a full or provisional licence.

WHAT CAN I USE MY AGRICULTURAL VEHICLES FOR?

As well as using your vehicles on your own farm, you are also automatically covered for occasional Agricultural Contracting, once the payments you receive in respect of Agri-Contracting do not exceed €50,000 per year.
