New Home Insurance Scheme for Irish and Edwardian Houses
We are delighted to announce the launch of a unique new Home Insurance product onto the Irish market. This new product is designed to cover houses built during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, i.e. houses which are over 100 years old, many of which are protected structures
Currently owners of these houses have difficulty in securing home insurance policies. Those that do secure cover do so on a replacement basis which provides 'new-for-old' cover on buildings and contents. In other words your old house will be replaced by a modern version. This is not suitable for houses build in the Victorian/Edwardian periods.
This new Home Insurance product provides 'like-for-like' cover as opposed to the cover currently available. This means that your house will be covered on a reinstatement basis and will be rebuilt using like materials and methods of construction.
